Nature has always been an important part of Kaye’s life, having the good fortune to grow up on a working cattle ranch and continuing that way of life on her family’s ranch, Lazy 77 Ranch, near Manning, ND, where they raise red and black angus cattle and have working Quarter Horses. In this environment roam the animals, especially horses, which Kaye loves to paint.

“I try to share a greater appreciation for subtlety within the larger world around us, and a respect for all living things. An intimate understanding and appreciation of the surroundings are essential and can only be obtained by interaction with moth animals and environments,” she says.

Her work concentrates on how light reveals objects and animals through shadow and color. “Equine images are one of my may favorite subjects as sound and movement enter into the peacefulness of their surroundings, which I try to capture in paint on canvas.”

“My paintings serve their purpose when you view them and share discovery of things we forget to notice. I hope my images bring you the enjoyment and fascination that can come from meeting and loving life in all its forms. If my paintings bring any little joy or pleasure to the viewers, I think that the purpose of my painting is met.”

Kent grew up surrounded by the beautiful, vast, and open landscape of North Dakota. He developed an appreciation for the simpler aspects of life and explored the outdoors. This led him to start photographing the beauty of nature around him and uncovered a passion to travel.

 College and a successful business career provided Kent opportunities to explore and live in places far from home: Colorado, Florida, Texas, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Italy, and the UK. He has come to appreciate nature and all that if offers an artist, allowing him to express himself for others to enjoy, in fact, through his exquisite photography, Kent invites you to "Invite nature inside." 

Kent's work has been recognized in numerous exhibits and publications; and he combines his mastery of the photographic method with his own exquisite poetry in published works, "Stillness: Whispers from Nature" and "Awareness: Whispers from Nature." Todd is a 1977 graduate of Bismarck, ND High School and inducted into its Hall of Fame. He rapidly began his ascent into the world of art, design, and business after receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the University of North Dakota with emphasis on medicine. In 1983, Todd achieved the equivalence for the Association of Medical Illustrators’ MA degree in Medical Illustrations. He did extensive contractual work with medical and pharmaceutical companies in the US and Sweden and illustrated medical books. 

Todd’s work has achieved acclaim nationally, including ND Furbearer Stamp winner and top 20 several times in the prestigious US Federal Duck Stamp competition. He was a contract for the Bradford Exchange, with is work being distributed globally. His paintings are included in public and private collections throughout the country, including a number of celebrities. 

His business acumen includes establishing Image Printing and acquiring Kaye’s Printing and Knight Printing in Fargo, placing them into the top 500 printers in North America, winning many awards in printing and design. Knight Printing is the oldest corporation in North Dakota, established in 1988.

Sam loves beauty and capturing a timeless moment of inspiration is what drives him to create paintings that are a part of who he is!  His fascination with art comes from the constant urge to explore and experience the wonders of nature and then recreate that on canvas for others to enjoy. Whether it is capturing the delight of a child examining a turtle or the brilliant hues of a rainbow after a thunderstorm over the badlands, Sam's goal is to celebrate what is good, true, and beautiful and that inspires and gives the viewer a sense of delight and awe.

Sam pursued art even as a small child and especially loved painting wildlife. As he grew in years and found that his love for painting grew, he was led to the prestigious art school The Atelier in Minneapolis, MN and his horizons were expanded from primarily wildlife to landscapes, still life, portraiture, and the human figure. This school, dedicated to teaching the techniques of the Masters, gave Sam the ability to paint a three-dimensional subject onto a two-dimensional canvas. It also challenged Sam in his use of color, brush strokes, light, and composition.

While attending The Atelier, Sam also attended a seminary where he received a Bachelor of Divinity and was ordained as a minister. After his studies at art school and seminary in Minneapolis, MN, Sam moved back to his hometown in Bismarck ND and became a Youth Pastor at Charity Lutheran Church. He found that doing youth ministry while continuing to pursue excellence in art made a perfect combination and he became well known in the community for painting beautiful landscapes and wildlife while also caring for young people.

Nine years later Sam transitioned to become an Associate Pastor and then recently accepted a call to be the Lead Pastor at Riverstone Church. Sam and his lovely wife Sarah are celebrating nearly 20 years together and have been blessed with four amazing children, Gabe, Cassia, Micah, and Caleb. These relationships and others have inspired Sam with the goodness and beauty of life and continually encourage him in creating masterpieces that reflect the wonder of creation.

Michael Haynes resides in the mountains near Salida, CO after previously living in the St. Louis, MO area. Noted for his historical art and painstaking attention to accuracy, he has been commissioned to produce interpretive art for a number of National Park Service sites, including Gettysburg, The Underground Railroad, and The Arch of St. Louis. His paintings were displayed and reproduced countless times during the Bicentennial of the Lewis & Clark Expedition. 

He has won numerous awards from Los Angeles to New York, and his work is in private and public collections in the United States and abroad. He has been published on five continents. His art has hung in the White House and the office of the Secretary of Defense.

In addition to the National Park Service, his paintings, depicting significant moments in US history, are in the collections of the US Army, the US Postal Service, and the ND Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center. His work has been selected as guides for the National Geographic Society’s Lewis & Clark IMAX production. 

In his words, “I am constantly challenged by learning about cultures and people who inhabited this country, then transferring that knowledge into art that informs viewers and tells a story that brings them into the scene. Combining research with the power of composition, color, and light, I hope to create a painting that entwines the literal with imagination and leads viewers into a moment and a culture that has been lost until re-visualized through this creative process.”

Linda Little is a sculptor who got a second chance at life, and she is living it.

A 1996 traffic accident changed the course of her life when it triggered an ‘involuntary reinvention.’ Linda was essentially a blank slate, with no memory of her life before the accident. Linda spent 18 months in rehabilitation while medical professionals helped her piece back together her broken mind. Her brain would never be the same.

It was at that time that Russian artist Valentin Okorokov took Linda under his wing, saying, “I will teach your hands what your brain cannot.” He showed her how to use her hands to channel her emotions directly into the clay, bypassing the encumbrances of her brain, and turning her limitations into blessings. 

Nearly two decades later, Linda continues her passion for sculpting. Her unique situation enabled her to capture the spirit of her subjects with a heartfelt vitality and skill and has made her a contemplative sculptor who transitions adeptly between subjects wild and domestic, including keen-eyed hawks/eagles, pheasants, horses and so much more. Linda’s art is the oasis she visits, where things are good and where she is closest to God. Her beautiful sculpting studio is located on several acres of nature’s hay ground just outside of Dickinson, North Dakota. Plentywood, MT sculptor has shown across the United States, earning accolades and awards along the way. His collection of bronze works, emulating the paintings of Swiss artist Karl Bodmer, depicting Native peoples in the 1830s, is the hallmark of his work, prominently displayed in institutions and private collections, including the North Dakota Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center in Washburn. 

 With exacting attention to detail and historical accuracy, Michael has gone to great lengths to portray his subjects correctly. He is well-known for realistically sculpting both human animal figures. He was selected the “Best Living Western Sculptor” by True West Magazine and chosen for the prestigious Best of Scottsdale Show in the Arizona city. 

Michael has been quoted saying, “My goal is to tell the history, to make people aware of events during the forming of the West.” He has been casting bronze since the early 1980s, becoming a full-time artist in 1988.
